Chelsea & Nathan took the year end trip of a lifetime, making their way from Egypt to South Africa. They spent time in Kenya, saw gorilla’s in Rwanda and sat in the Devil’s Pool at Vic Falls. But nothing compared (in my humble opinion) to their beautiful elopement at Misava Safari Camp, one of the Klaserie Drift Safari Camps in the Greater Kruger National Park.
This was the perfect way for them to end their holiday (after the airline lost their luggage at the very beginning of their trip and they both came down with a bug along the way). The Kruger Park is known for the crazy heat in January, but luckily a huge storm the night before their wedding, cooled everything down and filled the rivers for their special day.
After an emotional first look, they said their “I Do’s” overlooking the spectacular plains of Klaserie Private Reserve and full Klaserie River – with a monkey watching the proceedings from a nearby tree.
After cake and bubbly, everyone hopped into an open game vehicle for the afternoon game drive and post-wedding photo shoot. We stopped on a small hill overlooking the entire reserve to enjoy the sunset and taking some stunning photos! On the way back to camp, we had some sundowners (with more bubbly and traditional South African snacks) and watched the full moon rise over the horizon.
Chelsea & Nathan, I’m so glad that despite all the things that went wrong on the way to South Africa, you kept going and ended your holiday on such a high note! It was such an honour to a part of this special day. Wishing you lots more adventures together and another trip to South Africa to see more of what we have to offer!
