This was one of those elopements that makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside! I don’t think I stopped smiling the whole day.
Brent is South African, with special childhood memories that brought him back to Plettenberg Bay. His beautiful bride Erica, from the USA, hadn’t been to the Garden Route, so what a perfect way to show her what it has to offer!
They are an adventurous couple who were looking for a breath taking spot to say their vows… and we found it! While on holiday in December, my husband and I took a walk in the Robberg Reserve and found a cliff with the most amazing views, that was quite easy to get to. After sending them a video of the view, Erica & Brent were sold (and I got out my hiking boots).
They got ready at Tsala Treetop Lodge and had their romantic dinner there after the ceremony. It was here that Erica blew Brent away with her gorgeous wedding dress. Brent wore a buttonhole with a sprig of indigenous erica included in it.
Erica planned ahead and wore pink Timbalands for the hike to their ceremony spot, with Brent carrying her train for her.
They stood on the edge of a cliff at a makeshift floral altar and declared their love for each other. Once they were done, they each broke open the back of a pansy shell to release the five doves found inside. They threw the doves into the wind, a different take on releasing doves at your wedding ceremony!
Erica and Brent, your love for each other is something beautiful and I wish you so many years of laughs and happiness!
And their fantastic wedding video below by Eon Media… it’ll give you goosebumps!
