Kerry & Pete met in the UK but now live in Dubai. Kerry wanted to come home to South Africa for this very special day and to show off our beautiful country at the same time.
They said their I Do’s under a huge tree, in front of friends and family from all over the world. Wildebees, warthogs and zebras looked on while they declared their love and commitment to each other.
After the ceremony, The Horizon played African jazz while guests enjoyed cold bubbly, a harvest table and bit of game watching as the wild animals wandered around a few metres away.
One of the many things that makes Glen Afric so interesting is their animals, especially their three elephants. The elephants joined the couple for some photos and then followed them to the reception area afterwards – amid many gasps and cheers of excitement from guests!
There were so many small touches that made the day so special… Kerry’s cousin played her down the aisle; Pete’s jacket was embroidered inside with their special dates; their wedding favours were made by a community charity, the hay bales guests sat on were donated to the animals at Glen Afric while the throws covering them were donated to worthy causes. At the reception, guests toasted with sherry to Pete’s late father and Kerry had a whiskey bar set up to honour her dad.
This was such a magical, love filled day and I am so privileged to have been a part of it! Kerry & Pete, you guys are so awesome, and I wish you tons of love and happiness wherever you are in the world!
