“Come as you are” was the dress code for Sarah & Jacques wedding, and actually the main feeling I got from their entire planning process and celebration!!
These two dropped all the stress, all the fluffy wedding pretenses and tapped directly into what made them happy (each other, family & fairy lights), to have one of the most laid back, genuine celebrations ever.
Their small ceremony was officiated by a close friend and former roommate (yip he is wearing a bathrobe) who used what he had learnt from their relationship as the foundation of their vows and love story reminders. It was true, real and oh so flippen special.
Under the big tree of the Gerakaris winery at delta Park we celebrated with a ‘bestie baked’ wedding cake, multiple Pienaar and Son Gin’s and canapes from Delta park café.
So much of this day was handmade, friend or family contributed, gifted or done. It was more like a communal labor of love than a typical wedding. Bright spring flowers in a mix of vintage bottles and trophies lined the simple but full tables. Nothing matched, nothing was exact, but it was their kind of perfect.
Sarah & Jacques you are truly beautiful, generous and kind souls, I feel very proud to have had a small part in celebrating your start of forever. Thank you and YAY!
Much love
